How to get the Federal Tax Credit :

To get the federal tax credit you must file IRS Form 5695 with your personal taxes. It is recommended that you keep record of your receipts and consult with a qualified tax professional.

To qualify, central A/C units must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating SEER rating of 15.0 or higher. Window A/C units must be Energy Star© certified, if the unit is greater than 8,000 BTU units it qualifies for a $100 credit while if it is 8,000 BTU units or less it qualifies for a one time $50 credit.
