A whistling or hissing sound coming from your unit typically originates in your air duct system. First step here is to get your ducts cleaned of dust and other things that could restrict air flow and cause a whistling noise. If your air ducts are clean and you still hear a hissing sound, air might be escaping through holes in your ducts and you’ll need professional maintenance.
