Get ready, San Antonio! Our first real, cold front is headed our way.
The front is expected to drop temperatures into the 50s and 60s this weekend. Sunday’s high is forecasted at 65, with lows in the low 50s. Temperatures in the Hill Country will be even colder than that.
Is your San Antonio heating system is ready? Today would be a good chance to turn your heater on for a few minutes to make sure it’s working correctly. Don’t forget – you’ll notice that smell that happens every time you turn your heater on for the first time of the season. It’s often called “dirty socks syndrome.” It’s nothing to worry about unless your smoke detector and/or carbon monoxide detector go off. That smell is dirt and lint burning off the heat exchange. Again, it’s normal.
Champion Home Services also wants to remind you about regular fall tune-up for your heating system. Our 17-point tune-ups make sure your system is running efficiently and effectively, and we also perform a carbon monoxide check.
Hope you enjoy this first blast of cold weather!
