Have you ever heard of Mistibushi City Multi? It sounds like another option to handle public transportation, right? Well, I believe it’s actually the future of keeping buildings either warm or cold – and saving energy in the process.
City Multi is essentially a ductless heating and air conditioning system (also called a mini-split AC system). There’s an outside unit, much like a regular AC system you likely have in your home. But that’s where the similarities end. With the City Multi system, that outside unit electronically controls up to 32 individual units inside a home, school or office building. Those indoor units generate the cold or hot air. No ducts are needed – which is great considering ducts lead to air loss, the number one source of wasted energy. The other cool thing? With City Multi, you can have the AC or heat on only in the rooms where it’s needed. That means no more cooling or heating an entire house or office building, even though you’re only using three rooms.
I know you may have a hard time picturing how all this works. It’s really different, so that’s okay. There aren’t too many companies using this technology right now, but I do believe it will be widely used in the not-so-distant future. Consider this an AC company’s “tech dream” – like when people got so excited before the iPhone became a reality.
Have any questions about it? Leave us a comment here or Facebook and Twitter. We’ll use them in an upcoming video blog.
We’re also going to be out at the 24th Annual San Antonio Fall Home and Garden Show at the Alamodome on September 24-26 to show off this technology. We hope you’ll stop by and check it out – because I really do think this is the future of controlling the weather in your home or office.
