Even during this busy season, there’s always ways to give back to the community. When thinking about what gifts to buy your loved ones, always remember there are so many less fortunate people in the world that would benefit from your donations tenfold. Here are a few of Champion AC’s favorite nonprofits and charities to give to during this holiday season!
This organization holds a special place in our hearts at Champion AC, since we are veteran owned and operated. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides college scholarships to children whose parents died while serving in special operations. It also offers family and educational counseling, including in-home tutoring, to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty. In addition, The Special Operations Warrior Foundation gives money to support severely wounded special operations warriors while they recover. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to severely wounded and hospitalized special operations personnel.
There are many ways to give a gift to SOWF. You can donate stock, give with life insurance, donate proceeds from your product, designate a beneficiary, bequest in a will or trust, create a tribute page, create IRAs, retirement plans and gift annuities.
Make-A-Wish and its volunteers, donors and supporters grant wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. These wishes include everything from going to Disneyland to meeting a child’s favorite wrestler – usually John Cena, who has performed more than 500 wishes since 2004. Make-A-Wish grants a new wish every 37 minutes on average here in the United States.
Boysville is a local nonprofit that provides a safe, family environment for children who have been abused or neglected. The fine work here has been happening since 1943. Boysville’s residents go on to become responsible adults. There are several ways you can help Boysville – donations are always appreciated, but you can also volunteer your time, clothing or school supplies.
From donating your airline miles to giving monthly donations to becoming a sponsor, there’s a way for everyone to give back through these wonderful organizations! Check out their websites for more information on how you can help.
