The health headlines keep pouring in. Yesterday, it was the start of mountain cedar season. Today? Flu season is here in San Antonio.
The Express-News is reporting that the first two flu cases have arrived in Bexar County. According to Metro Health, this is quite late to see the first cases. Health officials told the newspaper the first flu case usually shows up before Thanksgiving, but flu season peaks in mid-January.
This means there is still time to get a flu shot. (The Express-News article linked above has a nice checklist of who shot get a flu shot.)
In addition, one of the home improvement projects we mentioned yesterday to help fight pollens can also help fight the spread of flu in your home. Indoor air quality systems, like Guardian Air, are used in hospitals to kill viruses and bacteria. It’s a nice upgrade for your home that doesn’t break the bank.
