I wanted to talk about CPS Energy bills today, but first – how nice was that rain this morning? I hope some fell on your part of town. If not, it looks like our rain chances are sticking around through Wednesday of next week!
Now, back to CPS Energy bills. They land in your mailbox or email once a month, whether you like it or not. But how closely do you really look at your electric bill? Understanding what’s on that sheet of paper or on your screen can help you save energy and money.
I recently talked with CPS Energy’s Albert Cantu for an article in NSIDE Magazine, by breaking down your CPS Energy bill and the article shows you where your money is going.
For instance:
- Your air conditioning system accounts for up to 68% of your bill.
- Your water heater accounts for 14%.
- Your lighting is 10% of your bill.
- And your refrigerator is 7%.
That’s 99% of your bill – so making sure you have energy efficient appliances is really important to saving money.
In addition to the bill breakdown, Albert had some really great ideas for energy-efficient home improvement ideas. So I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check out the article.
And keep your fingers crossed for more rain!
