Earth Day 2011 is here. One of the things our company tries to do is help customers accomplish small things to become more environmentally conscious. That’s also the goal of Earth Day.
You’ve probably heard the common tips to help “go green” a million times – things like carpooling, using energy-efficient appliances, etc. But one thing you don’t hear about much is e-cycling. Any time we throw away old computers, televisions or any other electronics, they go straight to the landfill. Many of those electronics have hazardous material inside. So that’s the danger. With e-cycling, not only do you get rid of the electronics you don’t want anymore, but many of the parts can be re-used or re-purposed for other things. It’s a win-win.
The EPA has a website full of ways to e-cycle. You can even recycle your old cell phones.
